The System

The system consists of a machine unit, object tags and worker Units, which are personnel units worn on the hardhat, safety vest or safety belt.

Gateway

Designed as a choke point to ensure that the vests are operating properly

  • Broadcasting, ranging and battery life check
  • Positioned at the entrance to the workplace

Object Tag

We also have object tags. These object tags work the same way as the worker unit except they would be mounted in a stationary position.

Worker

When a machine approaches a worker or a worker approaches a machine the warning zone will activate in the machine. At the same time the worker tag will vibrate and sound a warning buzzer, alerting the worker to the presence of the machine. This will give the worker an opportunity to clear the warning zone before the machine enters the danger (red) zone, a situation requiring the machine to stop.

That is the standard setup for the worker tag. However there are certain workplaces where the workers are consistently working in areas where the warning zone would be breached almost continuously. In these type of work environments it is possible to only alarm both the machine and worker tags when the danger zone is breached.

The system can be configured to suit most every application.

Worker tags can have external or internal battery packs.

Machine

The machine unit is set up using multi zone ranging proximity. The zones can be independently adjusted and set to meet the desired detection area around the mobile equipment being used.

When the person wearing a worker unit approaches the machine and enters into the zone which is the alert or warning zone, a yellow indicator lamp will light up indicating that the alert zone is breached alerting the Machine operator that someone has entered the zone. If that person gets closer to the machine, a red light indicator as well as a vibrating seat will activate.

When the seat vibrates and the indicator light is on, the operator is warned that a person is now in the danger zone and should immediately stop the machine until the red zone is clear.
